Beecraigs Country Park

Beecraigs Country Park is a lovely place to visit and offers a wide range of leisure activities in a natural setting across over 900 acres.  It’s tucked away high in the Bathgate Hills close to the historic town of Linlithgow.  See the Red Deer herd or pop into the Visitor Centre for more information or have a browse around the Farm Shop.  Beecraigs Country Park is less than a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

Almond Valley

Set along a woodland and riverside, there’s plenty to see and do at Almond Valley.  Visit their friendly farm animals and a range of pets and chickens that are used to being handled regularly.  Across the river, there are trampolines, pedal carts and plenty of outdoor play areas.  Almond Valley is less than a 10 minute drive from Mercure Livingston Hotel.

Five Sisters Zoo

Five Sisters Zoo is the most visited wildlife attraction in West Lothian. They have an exciting collection of over 180 different species of mammals, birds and reptiles from across the globe.  The Zoo have become a home to three bears and four lions following from their previous lives performing in travelling circuses, see how they settling in at their new surroundings.  The Zoo is a 10 minute car journey from the hotel.

A Christmas Carol – Millennium Stage School

From the 24th to 26th November 2017 Join the cast of local group Millenium Stage School accompanied by a live band to get the Christmas season off to a sparkling start.

Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well-known story and has become part of New York’s festive season, at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.  The music is by Alan Menken, composer of Sister Act, Little Shop of Horrors and a dozen classic Disney scores including The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.  Ebenezer Scrooge is a Victorian grinch, who thinks Christmas is “humbug”, but with the help of a cast of larger-than-life characters and three ghosts he comes to see the error of his ways.

Beauty and the Beast

Long, long ago, in a large ominous looking castle in West Lothian, a selfie-stick obsessed and arrogant Prince called Sebastian was cursed to live for all eternity as a Beast for refusing to marry the Evil, yet exceedingly glamorous Witch, Veronica Venomossima.  He has to find love before the final petal falls from the enchanted rose or he and his manservant, Alfred Sidekick, will remain in limbo for eternity.  The spell can only be broken if Sebastian finds someone who can love him for who he really is…
